What is the ruling on someone who prayed Dhuhr a little before Asr, then Asr individually, and remembered after praying Asr that they had forgotten the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) before the salutation (taslim), and could not determine which prayer they had forgotten it in, whether it was Dhuhr or Asr?

Scholars differ on what is required from someone who forgot the prostration of forgetfulness (Sujud al-Sahw) until a long time passed or they left the place. Some are of the opinion that nothing is obligatory, while others believe it should be performed even if a long time has passed. Some hold that the prayer should be repeated if the prostration of forgetfulness was supposed to be performed before the salaam due to the omission of three sunnah acts, and so on.

The most cautious approach is for you to repeat both prayers if you cannot pinpoint which prayer involved the forgetfulness, or to perform the prostration of forgetfulness even if a long time has passed, based on the opinion of those who permit this.
