Is one obligated to fulfill a vow of slaughtering an animal when employed by the army instead of the border guards?

Undertaking a conditional vow is reprehensible (makrooh), but it becomes obligatory to fulfill if the condition is met. If a person vows to slaughter an animal for being employed in a specific job (border guard) and does not get it, he is not obligated to fulfill the vow. However, if he vows for employment in the army in general and obtains a job therein, it is more cautious to fulfill the vow to avoid the scholarly disagreement regarding the generalization of intention for a specific word.
