Resorting to customs and traditions in matters where Islamic law has already ruled is considered an act of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance). Being content with it and prioritizing it over Allah’s ruling undermines the very essence of religion and demolishes one of its pillars. The Holy Quran affirms that true believers are those who resort to the judgment of Allah and His Messenger, and do not doubt or reject it. The Quran also condemns those who claim faith yet take Taghut (false deities or rebellious powers) as their judge. Allah Almighty swore that they do not truly believe until they make the Messenger (peace be upon him) a judge in their disputes and accept his judgment without reservation.
