Is it permissible for a student who faces difficulty combining the timely performance of Fajr prayer with the demands of his university studies, which necessitate staying up late, thereby negatively affecting his concentration and health, to delay Fajr prayer to gain necessary hours of sleep?

The greatest causes of success are achieving Allah's pleasure and obedience, maintaining righteousness, and observing the Fajr prayer is among the most important of these. Whoever prays Fajr is in Allah's protection and care and becomes active and pleasant-souled. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever prays the morning prayer is under Allah's protection." As for one who neglects it, they are lost, and Shaytan strikes them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, alluded to this when he said: "Satan ties three knots at the back of the head of each of you when he sleeps... If he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is undone; if he performs ablution, another knot is undone; and if he prays, all the knots are undone, and he becomes active and pleasant-souled; otherwise, he becomes ill-spirited and lazy." Therefore, do not neglect the Fajr prayer, ensure you get enough sleep, and make prayer the solution to your problems, seeking Allah's help and relying on Him.
