What is the ruling on sexual intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan, and what is its expiation? Is it permissible to combine the intention of expiation with the intention of an 'aqiqah when feeding sixty poor people?

If a man has intercourse with his wife during the daytime in Ramadan, he must repent sincerely, and he must offer expiation (kaffarah), which is: freeing a believing slave. If he cannot find one, then he must fast for two consecutive months. If he is unable to do that, then he must feed sixty poor people. The transition between these steps occurs when one is unable to perform the preceding one. Ignorance of the prohibition or the expiation is not considered an excuse for an original Muslim living in a Muslim environment. It is not permissible to perform the Aqeeqah with the intention of expiation, due to the difference in the conditions for each of them.
