Is a deceased mother who stopped praying for three days before her death due to severe illness, and due to her ignorance of the obligation of prayer upon the sick, considered sinful? Will her good deeds be preserved for her and intercede on her behalf? And what is the relation of her situation to the verses "So fear Allah as much as you are able" and "Allah does not burden a soul beyond its scope," and the Hadith that refers to the preservation of good deeds for one who worshipped Allah in good health?

We ask Allah to forgive your mother and have mercy on her. You fell short in teaching her what was necessary for her during her illness, so you must seek forgiveness. If she was ignorant of the ruling, we hope there is no sin upon her, and if she knew but fell short, we hope Allah overlooks it for her. Strive in supplicating for her. The two noble verses indicate the obligation of prayer upon her according to her capacity and the waiver of what she was unable to do. The hadith you mentioned was not narrated with this wording, but it was narrated in Al-Bukhari: "If a servant falls ill or travels, Allah records for him the equivalent of what he used to do when he was healthy and resident." So, we hope she has a share in this and that what she was unable to do during her illness is recorded for her.
