Is covering the head during prayer Sunnah?

Covering the head for a man in prayer is not among the Sunnah, whether for the Imam, the one praying behind him, or the one praying alone. It is desirable to cover the head for one who is accustomed to beautifying himself with it, due to the Almighty's saying: "Take your adornment at every place of prayer."
