What is the ruling on performing Umrah on behalf of a deceased person before performing Umrah on one's own behalf? Is it permissible for the one performing Umrah to repeat it from Tan'im, or must he go to the Miqat from which he first entered into Ihram? Is it permissible for people from Jordan to enter into Ihram from Dhu al-Hulayfah if they first travel to Medina?

It is not valid for you to perform Umrah on behalf of another unless you have first performed Umrah for yourself. After completing your Umrah and exiting the state of ihram, you may go to Al-Taneem and enter into ihram for another Umrah on behalf of your deceased relative. It is not necessary for you to return to the Miqat from which you entered ihram initially; it suffices for you to go to the nearest point outside the Haram boundary, which is Al-Taneem. The Miqat for the people of Jordan is Al-Juhfah, but if any of them pass by Dhul-Hulaifah and intend to perform Hajj or Umrah, they should enter into ihram from there.
