Does registering the newborn's name as "Muhammad Ali" on the birth certificate affect the vow to name him "Muhammad"?

Naming a newborn "Muhammad Ali" does not affect the vow (nadhir), unless the father intended "Muhammad" as a singular, distinct name. In that case, he must fulfill his vow and adjust his son's name. Naming a newborn "Muhammad" is commendable and an act of obedience that must be fulfilled, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him."
