What is the ruling on killing a girl who has engaged in an illicit relationship or committed adultery, in order to get rid of shame, and what is said to relatives who cut ties with the family?

The family's duty towards their daughter is to raise her, ensure her chastity, educate her, discipline her, and conceal her faults when she errs, based on the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Each of you is a guardian and is responsible for his flock."

If a chaste girl is accused of adultery, the accuser is subject to the Hadd punishment for slander (Qadhf), based on the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, those who malign chaste women, who are unaware and believing – they are cursed in this world and the Hereafter; and for them is a great punishment," and "And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses – lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept their testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient."

If adultery is proven against her, the one who carries out the Hadd punishment is the Grand Imam, not the father or brother. Killing someone who is subject to a Hadd punishment without authorization from the general ruler (wali al-amr) is forbidden and a practice of the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah).
