Is what the suitor did correct, and is expiation incumbent upon him after swearing that his mother would die if you went with another driver, and is your marriage after that sinful?

Firstly: The fiancée is not obligated to obey her fiancé before the marriage contract, as he is a stranger to her. She must obey her father and seek his permission. She is not obligated to seek his permission even if she is married to him but he has not yet consummated the marriage and she is still in her father's house. However, it is advisable to close all doors that lead to problems.

Secondly: What the fiancé said is not an oath, and nothing results from it, nor is there any expiation for it. However, it is a supplication against himself and his family, and a Muslim is forbidden from doing so lest it be answered. This is based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Do not supplicate against yourselves, and do not supplicate against your children, and do not supplicate against your wealth, lest you coincide with an hour in which Allah is asked for a grant, and He answers you." And his saying: "Do not supplicate against yourselves except with good, for verily the angels say 'Amen' to what you say."

Thirdly: The fiancé is a stranger to his fiancée. Her conversation with him must be within what is customary and limited to what is necessary for understanding marriage matters. It should not be expanded upon or prolonged, and on the condition that it does not involve temptation or arousal of desire.
