Is selling one's opinion and intellectual talents for money an ethical act, or does it lead to sin, especially if it results in saying, thinking, or doing anything for enough money?

People's perceptions of analysts vary, and their work differs according to the nature of the material they analyze and their methodology. A Muslim should not work as a "sports" or "technical" analyst because these professions waste one's life on matters that are of no benefit in the sight of Allah, whereas the work of a "military" and "political" analyst is permissible. The work of a "financial/economic" analyst is permissible provided that it does not encourage usurious or prohibited transactions. It is not permissible for an analyst to definitively state that a future event will occur because that is knowledge of the unseen (Ghaib). Their role is limited to analyzing current realities and offering advice. An analyst must speak according to their knowledge and understanding, and be far removed from dictates that go against their convictions. If the analyst adheres to truthfulness and trustworthiness, then their earning is permissible and lawful.
