The seven heavens are mentioned in the Quran and , but no specific names have been given to them. Rather, they are referred to as "the lowest heaven" (al-sama' al-dunya), "the second heaven," and so on. In a , Allah descends to the lowest heaven every night. And in the hadith of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, met Adam in the lowest heaven, Jesus and John in the second, Joseph in the third, Idris in the fourth, Aaron in the fifth, Moses in the sixth, and Abraham in the seventh. A Muslim must restrict themselves to what is mentioned in revelation concerning matters of the unseen.
