The answer

Crying during calamities is a natural human reaction. The Prophet, peace be upon him, cried out of mercy. Allah does not punish for the tears of the eye or the sadness of the heart. Crying is permissible as long as it is not accompanied by dissatisfaction with Allah's decree or resentment of destiny.
