Is human destiny predetermined and fixed in advance, or does a person have a choice in determining their path? Is it true that Qadar (Divine Decree) was created by Jahm bin Safwan and not by Allah? What is the proportion of Qadar that Allah has decreed? Are the day of a person's death and marriage predetermined? And if a person makes a mistake in their path, does Qadar change?

Belief in divine decree (Al-Qadar (definition)) is one of the pillars of faith. It is based on knowledge, writing, will, and creation and formation. Creation is thus encompassed within belief in divine decree. The servant has a will and choice for which he is rewarded or punished, but his will is subordinate to the will of Allah. Marriage is decreed by Allah, and a person does not know what has been decreed for him. Therefore, he must adhere to the Sharia (definition), seek Allah's help, and perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance). Goodness lies in complying with the Sharia, even if the soul dislikes it.
