The answer

Among the Sunan (ways/patterns) of Allah is the abundance of the people of falsehood and disbelief, and the scarcity of the people of truth and faith, as confirmed by His Almighty saying: "And most of the people, however much you might desire it, will not be believers." Ibn Kathir explained this by saying that most people are disobedient to their Lord and مخالفون (in opposition) to the truth, and that the deviation of most people on earth from among the children of Adam. There is no contradiction between the spread of Islam in a certain period and the fact that most people are upon disbelief and misguidance, for they are the majority compared to the believers.
