The answer

Neglecting prayer, while denying its obligation, is an act of disbelief (kufr) that expels one from the fold of Islam, by the consensus of Muslims. There is a jurisprudential opinion that considers one who abandons even a single prayer out of laziness, after its time has elapsed, to be a disbeliever. However, the we adopt is that one who abandons prayer out of laziness does not become a disbeliever.
