What is the ruling on ridiculing the beard, the short garment (thawb), and other manifestations of the Sunnah? And what is the view on someone who, when enjoined to these acts of worship, points to his heart and says: "Piety is here"?

Whoever mocks the beard or the garment that conforms to the Sunnah (definition), while knowing that it is authentically established from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commits disbelief because he is mocking the Prophet's words and actions, and stubbornly opposing and ridiculing his Sunnah. Allah Almighty says: (Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?" Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief.) And whoever says "piety is in the heart" but does not implement the Sharia (definition) ruling, he is a liar, because faith is both statement and action, not just in the heart. This aligns with the saying of the innovator Murji'ah. If the heart were sound, it would manifest in actions. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (Indeed, in the body there is a piece of flesh which, if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Indeed, it is the heart.) And he said: (Indeed, Allah does not look at your forms or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.) This statement from the obstinate is a sign of their deficient faith, and they intend by it to stop the callers from advising them.
