The answer

A Muslim is not held accountable for stray thoughts and whispers of disbelief concerning God, and his dislike for these whispers is a sign of his faith, as stated in the , "That is pure faith." A Muslim should turn away from these whispers and distract himself from them, repelling them by seeking refuge in Allah and stopping, or by saying, "I believe in Allah," or by reciting the verse: "He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is Knower of all things."
