How can one respond to the problem raised by some regarding the Almighty’s saying: (Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it) [Fussilat: 42], claiming that this implies the Qur’an has two hands, while acknowledging that we do not deviate the Qur’an from its apparent meaning, especially concerning the attributes of Allah?

This problem only arises for those who are unfamiliar with the styles of the Arabic language. Indeed, Arabs express what precedes and what follows something by saying: "what is between its hands and what is behind it." An example of this is the Almighty's saying: (So We made it an exemplary punishment for what was before it and what came after it, and a warning to the righteous) [2:66], and His saying: (And indeed, warning examples have passed on before him and behind him) [13:30].
