The question

What is the explanation of the Hadith: "A neck will emerge from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, having two eyes that see, two ears that hear, and a tongue that speaks," and how are these attributes characteristic of humans, and why were they not mentioned in the singular form or without specifying the limbs?

The answer

The aforementioned is authentic. Mulla Ali al-Qari explains it, stating that the "neck" that emerges from the Fire on the Day of Judgment is a part of it, resembling a long neck with two eyes that see, two ears that hear, and a tongue that speaks. This neck declares: "I have been entrusted with three: every stubborn tyrant, every person who invoked another god alongside Allah, and the picture-makers." This is a severe threat and a sure warning for these categories of disobedient individuals. Allah is capable of making anything speak and endowing it with these attributes.
