What is the interpretation of verses 234-235 of Surat Al-Baqarah, and is it permissible to speak with the girl one intends to propose to without a mahram present in a public place?

These two verses are among the most important legal verses regulating personal status, and they contain extensive discussions. It is notable that at the end of each verse, there is a suitable commentary on the rulings contained within it.
