A Muslim must respect papers and objects upon which the names of Allah the Almighty or texts of revelation from the Qur’an and are written. It is not permissible to throw them in the trash or in dirty places. Allah the Almighty says: "And whoever honors the sacred rites of Allah - it is better for him in the sight of his Lord," and "And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts." If a Muslim finds any such thing, he should burn it, bury it, or place it in a respectable place to preserve it.
