The answer

Swearing by other than Allah is forbidden and considered minor (polytheism), as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed shirk." And for one whose tongue has become accustomed to swearing by other than Allah, he must train his tongue, if he swears by other than Allah, to say: "There is no god but Allah," for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever swore and said in his oath: 'By al-Lat and al-Uzza,' let him say: 'There is no god but Allah.'" It is obligatory to strive against oneself to purify the tongue from swearing by other than Allah Almighty.
