What is the ruling on playing an electronic game that contains characters which sometimes utter phrases involving polytheism (shirk) against Allah, such as "gods," knowing that it does not simulate any polytheistic act except for the pronouncement of these words, and that the player avoids playing with this character but teammates whom he does not know might choose it, and he then hears what that character says?

If the word "god" (إله) is used in the context of promoting or affirming polytheism, then one must avoid playing the game that contains it. A Muslim should not become attached to games, but rather should use their time in what benefits them in their religion and worldly life, such as worship, knowledge, or work. If they wish to play, then they should seek a game free from prohibitions and doubts.
