What is the ruling on saying to someone, "Allah has afflicted me with you," or similar phrases, after a problem has occurred with them?

If a person says to another, "Your face is a face of calamities," then if he means that the latter brought calamities upon himself through his actions, this does not invalidate one's creed. However, it is better to speak good words. But if he intends to express pessimism about him, this is impermissible, as it falls under forbidden ṭiyarah (superstitious belief in omens), which is shirk (definition) (polytheism). One must rely on Allah, repel pessimism with faith and certainty, and say: "O Allah, there is no good except Your good, and no omen except Your omen, and there is no god besides You."
