Did the Prophets, peace be upon them, relieve themselves?

If "refreshment" means that the prophets did not follow the path of monasticism and extremism in worship, and that they partook of permissible things that aided them in obedience, then this is true. This is because Allah commanded the messengers to eat of good things, and granted them wives and offspring, and condemned monasticism. It is narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to eat meat, marry women, fast and break his fast, pray and sleep, and that whoever deviates from his Sunnah (definition) is not of him. Exaggerating in abstaining from permissible things or overindulging in acts of worship to the extent that it interferes with obligations is forbidden.
