The book "Durrat al-Nasihin" by Uthman ibn Hasan (definition) al-Khubawi is filled with weak hadiths, and even contains hadiths that have no basis, as well as strange stories and tales that contradict sound, authentic Islamic evidence. Therefore, it is not recommended to read it except for a discerning individual who can distinguish between the authentic and the unsound. It is also not recommended to read it aloud to people. It is preferable to replace it with more beneficial books such as "Sahih (definition) al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib" by Al-Albani, "Riyadh al-Salihin," and "Mishkat al-Masabih" verified by Al-Albani.
