When did Hinduism begin, and is the story of the devil who made a statue for the wife of Prophet Idris and his children true? Is there a connection between the Brahmins and Prophet Ibrahim, and is he the best of creation after Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him?

The answer

Hinduism is a diverse religious tradition that originated in India. It is not a monolithic religion and has no single founder or sacred text. There is no connection between the Prophet of Allah, Abraham (peace be upon him), and the Hindu Brahmins. Hinduism is a man-made, conventional religion, and it does not believe in Allah as the Lord of the worlds, nor in divine books or messengers.

Al-Shahrastani warned against the error of those who assume that they were named Brahmins due to their relation to Abraham (peace be upon him), as they fundamentally deny prophethood.

As for what the questioner mentioned about the disappearance of the Prophet Idris (peace be upon him), and Satan making an idol of him, which his people then worshipped, there is no basis for this. It is known that the first instance of polytheism occurred among the people of Noah, with the worship of righteous individuals.

Abraham (peace be upon him) is the best of the prophets and messengers after our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah knows best.
