The question

What are the methodologies of the aforementioned books (Shifa’ al-‘Alil translation of Qawl al-Jamil, Sawati’ al-Ilham, and Al-Kibrit al-Ahmar fi Bayan Ulum al-Shaykh al-Akbar by Abd al-Wahhab Ahmad ibn Ali al-Sha’rani), and is it permissible to publish them if they contain some doctrinal deviations from the methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah?

The answer

The permissibility of participating in the publication of books depends on their content. Publication is good if the content is sound and free from شرعي (Shari'ah) prohibitions such as innovations (bid'ah), superstitions, and doctrinal deviations. As for the books mentioned in the question, which are Sufi books of the Naqshbandi order, they contain prohibitions: - The first book: "Al-Qawl al-Jamil fi Bayan Sawa' al-Sabil" was not seen, but it discusses the etiquettes of the Shaykh and the murid, the pledge of allegiance (bay'ah), and the history of Sufism. - The second book: "Sawati' al-Ilham" by its author Abu al-Faiz al-Hindi (Faizi), is a book of exegesis written with words devoid of dots. Its author and his brothers were known for their corrupt beliefs, poor religiosity, and atheism. - The third book: It is based on the thought of Ibn Arabi, who is considered a Shaykh of misguidance.

If the questioner can limit his work to publishing books that are Islamically permissible, then there is no harm for him to remain in his job.
