What is the ruling on a group of people agreeing to perform a specific act of worship, a specific good deed, and to repeat a specific remembrance on a specific day?
The saying "Lā ʾilāha ʾillā Allāh" (There is no god but Allah) is among the best forms of remembrance, and its virtues are many. It is permissible for a Muslim to invite others to it and remind them of its virtues. However, it is not permissible to specify a particular time for its remembrance that was not specified by the , as this falls under innovation (bidʿah). Adhering to specific acts of worship at specific times for which no designation exists in the Sharia is considered an additive innovation. It suffices to explain the virtue of "Lā ʾilāha ʾillā Allāh" or any other legitimate act and to call to it without specifying a manner, time, or number that was not specified by the Sharia.
