Is it necessary to inform an adopted son of his true lineage, or should the matter be concealed from him?
Sponsoring a child of unknown parentage is a great deed and one of the best acts of devotion, and it falls under the reward of sponsoring an orphan.
A child of unknown parentage should be given a general lineage, not attributed to a specific person. If incorrectly attributed, their lineage must be changed.
It is important to inform the child of the truth before they hear it from others. They can be prepared for this by recounting similar stories or showing films, and explaining that some children go to other homes due to their parents' circumstances.
One must be prepared to answer their awkward questions calmly and gently, and the answer should be consistent between both spouses. The other children should be instructed not to answer the child's questions and to direct them to the parents.
