The answer

The first [duty] is to name children with good names, such as Abdullah and Abdurrahman, and the names of the Prophets. For daughters, [they should be named] after the daughters of the Prophet, his wives, and the female Companions. If named otherwise, with something that does not contain a -prohibited meaning, then there is no harm. As for foreign names, it is not appropriate to use them unless their meaning is known, as they might include a bad meaning or a slogan that contradicts religion and morals.
