It is not permissible for a wife to seek a divorce without a legitimate reason. If the husband abandons prayer out of laziness, she is permitted to seek a divorce. However, if he abandons it while denying its obligation, the marital bond between them is severed, and it is not permissible for her to remain with him, because he is a disbeliever, an apostate from the faith.
