What should a wife do with her husband who does not maintain prayer and lies about performing it, and is it permissible for her to refuse him or seek a divorce as a means of pressure on him?

Prayer is the pillar of faith, and whoever abandons it is exposed to great danger. If the husband is diligent in performing it, there is no need to question his sincerity. If he is negligent, he must be advised and reminded with wisdom, gentleness, and prayers for his guidance. If he persists in his negligence, his rights are not forfeited, but it is permissible to seek a divorce from him. It is better to be rid of a disobedient husband who abandons prayer, even through khul'.
