The answer

The criterion for what is forbidden for men to imitate women in is that which is customary or prevalent for women in their gender, appearance, or dress. The determination of this refers to the prevailing custom in each country. This includes clothing, speech, movement, and adornment. Al-Ayni emphasizes that imitation in adornment includes wearing headscarves (maqani'), necklaces (qala'id), chokers (makhanq), bracelets (asawir), anklets (khalakhil), and earrings (qurt). Therefore, it is impermissible for a man to wear chains, bracelets, and necklaces in most countries, as these are characteristic of women. Otherwise, he would be imitating effeminate men, and people of immorality and disobedience. The exceptions to this are rings, adorning a sword, and binding teeth with silver. Moderation in adornment is obligatory, and excessive indulgence in luxury should be avoided.
