What is the ruling on using a derma roller and nourishing creams afterward, while avoiding creams that cause skin puffiness?
The derma roller is a manual tool with small needles of varying lengths (0.2 mm - 3 mm) and numbers (90 - 540 needles). It creates microscopic punctures to stimulate the skin to produce nourishing proteins for skin regeneration and tightening. There is no harm in using it for skin cleansing and beautification, especially for removing melasma and improving the facial appearance for one's husband, provided that harm is avoided by knowing the method of use, skin type, medications that contraindicate the use of the tool, and consulting a doctor. The default rule is permissibility unless harm is proven. The women of the Companions used wars (saffron) to beautify their faces.
