Is it permissible to keep pirated foreign films that have been collected over the years after repenting from buying them?

The fatwa (definition) is that copyrights are owned by their holders, so it is not permissible to buy or use copied materials that their owners prohibit from being copied. If the films contain objectionable elements, such as images of women or music, they are also forbidden from this aspect. Films containing forbidden elements must be disposed of by destroying them or by copying other materials over them. As for permissible copied films, it is not permissible to use them without the permission of their owners, and they can be disposed of by destroying them or erasing their content.
