One should frequently supplicate for them, then teach them the Shahada (declaration of faith) and explain its meaning, practically instruct them on purity () and prayer (Salat), and encourage them to pray in congregation. Subsequently, teach them the rulings of fasting (Sawm) and Hajj and when needed. One can contact the Committee for the Introduction of Islam, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, and the Qatar Center for the Introduction of Islam to obtain translations of the meanings of the Quran and books introducing Islam in either Sinhala or Tamil languages.
