Is it permissible for a worshiper to respond to someone who alerts him to catch the prayer before the opening Takbir or in an inappropriate manner? And is it permissible for him to step backward as soon as he notices someone approaching? And what are the cases in which it is permissible for a worshiper to respond to a non-worshiper? And is it permissible to walk during prayer with normal steps or with full steps?

The first congregant (ma'mum) must step back to form a row with the second congregant behind the Imam if a third person comes to pray with them, or the Imam should step forward if there is no room behind him. It is preferable for the second congregant not to utter the opening takbir (takbirat al-ihram (definition)) until the first congregant has stepped back and aligned with him. The congregant should not step back merely upon feeling the presence of another person; rather, he should wait for a signal. A worshiper should not be preoccupied with anything other than his prayer, except in cases of necessity, such as saving a life or correcting a recitation. Walking during prayer, when necessary, should be done with ordinary steps.
