The answer

A believer is not one who slanders, or curses, or is obscene, or vulgar. Mocking God’s creation is forbidden. Backbiting a dhimmi disbeliever is forbidden because it repels them from accepting jizya and violates their covenant. However, backbiting a warring disbeliever is permissible. Mentioning an innovator by their innovation is not disliked.
