The question

Should I interrupt my recitation of Al-Fatiha if the Imam pronounces the second "takbir" in the funeral prayer, given that I have only half of the last verse remaining from Al-Fatiha, specifically at His saying: "غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين" (not of those who have evoked [Your] wrath or of those who are astray)?

The answer

Reciting Al-Fatiha in the funeral prayer is recommended, not obligatory. If the Imam pronounces the second takbir before the worshipper finishes reciting Al-Fatiha, the worshipper should stop what remains of it and follow the Imam, and the Imam bears the responsibility for what was left. If the worshipper completes Al-Fatiha quickly and catches up with the Imam in the second takbir, their prayer is valid, while being keen to follow the Imam and not lag excessively behind him.
