The question

What is the ruling on placing stones under the head of the deceased, and praying in a mosque that is separated from a graveyard by an iron wall, with the Qibla facing the graves, and praying in the graveyard when time is short, and how do we reconcile the prohibition of praying in a graveyard with the action of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who prayed over the servantess in her grave?

The answer

There is no harm in placing a stone or a brick under the deceased's head, like a pillow. Ibn Qudamah mentioned in "Al-Mughni": "A brick or a stone or something elevated is placed under his head, just as a living person does." Al-Shirazi said in "Al-Muhadhdhab": "His head is propped up with a brick or clod of earth, like a living person when he sleeps."
