Is it permissible to remove the hijab at my sister's wedding?

It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to remove her hijab (definition) in front of non-mahram (definition) men, based on the Almighty's saying: "O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused." (Quran 33:59), and His saying: "And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition." (Quran 33:53). Furthermore, ostentatious display (tabarruj) is a characteristic of the people of Hellfire, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Two types of the people of Hell I have not seen… and women who are clothed yet naked, inclining [to evil] and inclined [to it by others]… they will not enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance." Therefore, it is not permissible to remove the hijab at a sister's wedding or any other occasion unless the place is free of non-mahram men.
