Is not the hadith: "Woe to Ammar, the transgressing group will kill him; he calls them to Paradise and they call him to Hellfire," proof of the misguidance and disbelief of the group that killed Ammar — and they are the army of Mu'awiya — given that they call him to Hellfire, which is a characteristic of disbelievers?

The Sunni scholars answered the specious argument concerning the hadith (definition) "Woe to Ammar" by stating that Ammar's killers were rebellious (bughat) Companions, but rebellion does not lead one out of faith, because the Quran called the combatants believers. The rebellious ones are either mistaken mujtahids who made an error in interpretation, and Allah has forgiven their error, or they committed a sin whose punishment is removed by effacing good deeds. The Companions have a greater share of these good deeds, and they witnessed Badr.
