What is the ruling on one who says: "It is possible for a Muslim woman to wear the hijab and enter Hell, and it is possible for a Muslim woman not to wear the hijab, and even to not acknowledge that it is obligatory for every Muslim woman in every time and place, and to say that scholars differed on the obligation of the hijab – covering the hair, neck, chest, abdomen, back, legs, and arms – and that some scholars said: 'The hijab is not obligatory!' Yet, despite that, she enters Paradise?!"

A distinction must be made between the legal ruling (hukm taklifi) and the Muslim's destiny. Covering the 'awrah is obligatory for Muslim men and women. Denying the obligation of is corruption and misguidance, and it may reach the level of disbelief (kufr) for contradicting what is known by necessity to be part of the religion. However, a specific person is not to be judged as a disbeliever due to the potential presence of impediments, such as ignorance.
