What should we do with a person who divorced his wife and published her name on his Facebook account, accusing her of adultery, despite being advised against it?

Accusing a chaste Muslim woman of adultery without valid sharia (definition)-compliant evidence is one of the grave, forbidden sins. It necessitates unrighteousness and punishment in this world, and torment in the afterlife, based on the Almighty's saying: "And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses - lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept their testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient" and His, the Exalted, saying: "Indeed, those who accuse chaste, unsuspecting, believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and for them is a mighty punishment." It is also considered an offense, a slander, and a clear sin. It grants her the right to bring the matter before a judge to have the slanderer punished, or to engage in mutual imprecation if she is still under his marital bond. Therefore, one who commits such an act must be reminded of the fear of Allah, the consequences of slander, and the necessity of concealment.
