The default rule is that there is no abrogation (naskh) in the texts of divine revelation, namely the Holy Quran and the noble prophetic . Nevertheless, there is no doubt that abrogation does exist in both. Among the abrogated hadiths are the Prophet’s prohibition (peace be upon him) of visiting graves and of storing sacrificial meat, which he later permitted, as narrated by Muslim and others. Books have been authored on abrogated hadiths, such as "Nasikh al- wa Mansukhuh" by Ibn Shahin and Ibn al-Jawzi.
