The answer

The obligatory act in ritual bathing () is to make water reach all parts of the body, accompanied by intention. If a person does this, it is sufficient for them, and they have fulfilled the obligation. What they do afterward, such as rewashing certain areas, does not affect the validity of their ghusl. However, it should not be done, as it may lead to obsessive doubts (waswasah), excessive formality (takalluf), and exaggeration.
