What is the ruling on writing master's theses for others, whether for a fee or not?

Whoever writes university theses for others is exposed to a great danger, for this act is a grave betrayal and an assistance to falsehood and the forbidden. It is a betrayal because the Ummah (nation) is harmed by unqualified individuals who occupy positions they obtained through deceit, and "whoever cheats us is not of us." This leads to the degradation of the Ummah. It is an assistance to falsehood because it causes societal imbalance by empowering incompetent individuals. Whoever does this, whether for a fee or not, is a partner in sin and bears the largest share of it, for "whoever learns knowledge by which the Face of Allah is sought, yet seeks it only to attain a worldly gain, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise." If this work is for a fee, then the money earned from it is unlawful and ill-gotten, for "every flesh that grows from unlawful earnings, the Fire is more befitting of it." Therefore, let whoever does this fear Allah and dread His punishment.
